Series Info & FAQ

The FCR National Championship Series is structured to permit racers to compete for regional and national championships while racing on their local tracks or in their regional area. The only time a racer would have to travel would be to the regional championship race or the national championship race, if the race isn't at his/her hometrack.

Our series sponsor, Parma, will be providing prizes and gift certificates to the regional and national champions, as well as the home track of the champions!

There are 6 divisions in the series, 5 of which count toward the Driver of the Year title. The Parma Challenge novice division will compete for a national championship, but will not count toward the driver of the Year title. Racers can compete in as many divisions as they wish, however, competing in the 5 primary divisions would increase your chances of earning the National Championship and Driver of the Year title.

                         The 6 divisions are:
Cup Series - presented by HRE
                       Parma Spec Stock Car
                               Supertruck
                      Grand National Stock Car
                        Parma Dirt Late Model
                            Parma Challenge

You can find a description of each division in the rules & regulations page.

A list of tracks that host FCR National Championship Series points paying can be found here. All tracks are members of regions. It is important that racers be aware of what region the track he/she chooses to compete at is a member of. All points earned in a region, regardless of which track in that region, will count toward the overall regional standings.

A racer may enter races at any track he wishes, but if races are entered in two different regions, the regional points will only apply to their perspective region. A racer may compete in more than one region. A racer may start the season at any time!

               The championship format

"The Regular Season" - will consist of a block of time in which a racer can enter as many Championship Series points races as he/she wishes. The ten best finishes in those races will be calculated and that will determine the racers "regional" points.

Track owners send in results after each race, and the overall regional standings will be updated weekly. Each region will have an overall standings compiled from every racers results from every race entered in that region, regardless of which track.

At the end of the regular season, the top 20% of racers or top 20 racers (whichever is greater) in regional standings will be "locked in" to the regional championship race. Any racer that enters at least 2 championship series races in a season, but is not locked in to the regional championship race, may enter the LCQ (last chance qualifier) race. The LCQ race will be the first race held at a regional championship event. The top 4 from that race will move into the regional championship race.

"The Regional Championship" - race will be held at the track that has the most entries in it's perspective region, in the regular season, providing that track has a facility that can host that event.

After the top 4 racers from the LCQ are determined, all racers will qualify and be seeded into heats, each heat will run separately, and the top 8 racers based on lap totals, will race in the final main. The winner of that main is the regional champion.

The regional champion will receive the winners share (50%) of the point fund money for that region, payable by trackbucks certificate redeemable through the racers home track, and a $50 certificate from Parma for parts & accessories, redeemable through the series, and free entry fees at national championship race.

The top 5 at regional championship races receive a share of the point fund money from that region (payable by trackbucks certificates redeemable through racers home track.) The champions home track will receive a $50 certificate from Parma for Parma merchandise. The champion and home track will also receive a championship plaque.

All racers that compete in the final main, are "locked in" to the national championship race. Any racer that competes in any race at a regional championship, but does not make the top 8, will be allowed to enter the LCQ at the national championship race.

" The National Championship" - race will be held at one of the tracks that host the regional championship. This race will rotate each season to a different region.

The national championship format is the same as the regional championship format, with a few exceptions. A national division champion will be crowned for each division, the overall national champion/driver of the year will be determined by most points earned at the national championship race.

The national division champions will receive a $100 certificate from Parma for Parma merchandise. The national champion/ driver of the year will receive a $250 certificate from Parma for Parma merchandise, redeemable through the series. There will be prizes for all racers in the final main. The overall national champion/ driver of the year's home track will receive a $100 certificate from Parma for Parma merchandise. The champion and home track will receive a championship plaque.

                         Track owner info

Any track owner wishing to join the FCR National Championship Series should contact the regional director for the region that is closest to the track. If your track does not fall into a current region on the map, you may want to consider starting a region in your area or contact the national series director nationaldirector@fcrseries.com  for info on how to proceed.

There are no track membership fees to join the series. Each week track owners submit results from all races held that week. Tracks must also submit $1 per entry for each FCR National Championship Series race, along with pictures that will be published in bi-weekly series newsletter.

This money goes into the regional point fund. The point fund money will be dispersed through certificates redeemable through racers home track. If one of your local racers makes the top 5, that would mean he will be buying merchandise from you! The series will send cash equal to value of the certificate directly to track owner. Therefore, track owners want to see their racers do well at regional championships, to increase your sales.

If you earn the regional championship for your location, that greatly increases the chance of your local racers earning a top 5 spot the championship race! That is the incentive for track owners to have as many entries as possible. The $1 fee can be added to the race entry fee or track owners can choose to deduct it from their standard entry fees. That decision is left to the track owner. Be sure to have racers from your track, list your track as their home track. Racers are allowed to compete at any track, but need to list ONE track as their home track. This is important to ensure you receive your prizes of one of your racers wins a championship.

There are 6 divisions in the FCR National Championship Series. A track can choose to host races for any number of divisions they wish during the regular season. The more divisions you choose to allow to compete, the better chance you have of winning prizes, and having your racers win track bucks certificates!

Track owners must agree to follow all division rules set forth by the series. If there is a circumstance where a rule would need to be varied, the track must receive permission from the National Series Director.

If you would like to add your track to the FCR National Championship Series contact the Regional Director nearest you, or the National Series Director at:

                    Regional Director Info

Regional directors are the organizers for the region. Regional directors can be a track owner. They will be the primary contact for other track owners on the region. They will be responsible for recruiting new tracks to their region, and they will oversee the regional championship race for their region. They will not be required to keep track of points or post results. This will be handled by the series.
